About Fresh Friends
Originally Fresh Friends was created to use service as a way to promote inclusivity and foster friendships among high school students. As the years have gone by, this mission has evolved to our what it is today of promoting volunteerism amongst high school students through the planning of service events! We partner with schools, local, statewide, and national organizations, and nonprofits to connect teen volunteers with service opportunities that impact their local communities.
In 2024, The American Red Cross reported that youth-serving organizations were having a harder time capturing the attention of Gen. Z volunteers. On the other side of this equation, many students are unaware of the variety of ways to serve, the efficacy of their work through service, or how to get started. With this in mind, we hope that by bringing service events to teens we are able to promote youth volunteerism and help them reap the benefits of serving!
Founded in 2024 by Logan Wells, Fresh Friends volunteers have spent over 300 hours in their community serving, been recognized in the House and Senate chambers of the SC Statehouse, and issued a statewide proclamation designating August as Fresh Friends Community Service Month!
